First Exercise

In the text, "They Say/ I Say", the authors write that the best academic writing is posed in a discursive format, that is to say, as a response to an argument or as a contribution to an ongoing discussion.  According to the authors, the most effective academic writing relies on analysing what others have said and contextualizing the response. Based on the course description of this class,  rhetoric is an explorative process resulting in the construction of an argument. It is heavily research based and relies on critical analysis and the sharing and revising of ideas.  These two concepts agree that rhetoric and argument are shared discussions, they are not set in stone and require research, contribution, discussion, and response.
