Stasis: Women's Ski Jump

 Should women's ski jump be added to the Winter Olympics? The argument rests on whether the sport's following warrants adding it, whether it meets the IOC's technical requirements, and whether continuing to deny it constitutes gender discrimination.  The IOC's opacity makes it difficult to determine what, exactly, the standards for admission into the Olympics entails.  Given that the IOC isn't bound by Canadian law, discrimination suits filed against it, while successful, did not result in admission.  The IOC's opaque rules also make it difficult to determine if their requirements for admission have been met.  It seems like a sport like ski cross, riding on the pop culture associations of a ---cross name was included with fewer participants and a smaller following.   So it really begs the question, are women being held back from jumping because the projected popularity of the event is small?  Additionally, arguing that it isn't "medically"appropriate for women to participate in ski jump is not only antiquated but plain dumb.  The world record holder in ski jump is a woman.
